There are no unwanted animals here - Only some that haven't found their family yet!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

All pets spell "LOVE" ... ... T - I - M - E .

Everyone wants to learn more about bunnies. Everyone loves to pet the kitties. There is no better way to learn about them - and play with them - than to work with them.

The volunteers say there's no more rewarding experience than to see the "kids'" happy and thankful faces .. They all want to be petted -- some even give you kisses.

If you've wanted to expand your "knowledge base", then an adoption event "apprenticeship" is the way to go. You'll hear more questions (and answers) about more topics and scenarios than even most long-time pet parents have ever run across. You'll get plenty of grooming experience, too -- brushing, trimming toenails and the like.

We are revamping our volunteer schedule to try to stabilize the "floating" that some volunteers are having to do to help us meet other demands.

PLEASE NOTE: All prospective volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application*. If you go ahead and download it and print a copy, you can fill it out (two pages, minimum information) and be that much ahead in the process. Download from the previous link or click here*.

Weekends:

Adoption Volunteer*: Click here* to download our job description.

We are always doing weekend Adoption Events (mid-day) at neighborhood PetSmart stores. If you can help on a Saturday or a Sunday (once a month, even - or more), PLEASE let us know.

Weekdays:

If you can give a couple of weekday mid-morning hours, the pets need YOUR help. This is a great opportunity for a couple of Moms that have just dropped off the kids - a senior group that wants to get out and do some good ... You get the picture.

These weekday volunteer assignments are appealing to those persons that may be less “people oriented” or that simply do not have weekend time to give to the animals, but yet want to help.

We are not asking anyone to take on the whole schedule, but we are asking for your help on one day a week.

Adoption Maintenance*: Click here* to download our job description.

Adoption Maintenance is a weekday job of making sure the pets at the Adoption Centers are clean and cared for (and well petted).

At The Shelter:

We will, obviously, instruct any procedures or techniques, but there's nothing strenuous involved - only an ability to complete a task correctly (the bunnies depend on our good work).

    Daily Tasks:

Morning (8:00 to 9:00 AM)

1. Dispense Pellets (feed)
2. Refill Water Bottles
3. Refill Hay Bins

Evening (before 6:00 PM)

1. Refill Water Bottles
2. Check Hay
    Twice Weekly Tasks:

1. Light Cage Cleaning
2. Sweeping Bunny Barn

Scheduling:

It is our hope to soon have enough volunteers to keep from "overworking" anyone. One day a week or one weekend a month .. If all of us give a little, no one needs to give a lot. Please help us, if you can.
